Las Vegas, Nevada - Eklund's, provider of total elevator cab solutions, collaborated with Otis Elevator Company to complete Las Vegas' new CityCenter. Spread over 67 acres, CityCenter replaces the strip malls and dated motels once lining the gap between Bellagio and Monte Carlo. Almost four years in the making, it encompasses hotels, private residences, retail and entertainment, a fine-art collection, tram and those five unique fountains.
This substantial project involved the custom manufacturing of 118 elevator cabs throughout CityCenter's Vdara, Aria and Mandarin Oriental hotels. One of the most eccentric cabs consisted of "rain" glass with Blue Danube interlay. The cab interior's rear wall is quartered Zebrano Veneer in a concave design with LED accent lighting running vertically. The stainless steel ceiling creates a circular cove which highlights the unique colors and high-quality materials used to maintain the aesthetics of the infamous hotel.
Aria Suites, another amazing development within CityCenter, allowed for a more earthy tone inside its vertical transportation structures. Each side wall is custom manufactured with a bronze mirror backing. The clear starfire front and laminated Koya Textile creates the "basket weave" fabric interlay that gives this interior a special appearance. The rear walls have clear laminated mirror, and the handrails and base are Texture Gilded Bronze. The ceilings are custom linen, painted white, with individually suspended downlights.
City Center was a twelve month project for which Eklund's innovative in-house manufacturing team custom-built an impressive number of aesthetically alluring conveyance systems to be showcased in one of the country's most inspired, beautiful developments.
